Licensure

Licensing program overview

The North Carolina Medical Boardā€™s licensing process is designed to thoroughly vet each applicantā€™s credentials and personal history to ensure they meet the high standards for competence and character established by the state of North Carolina.

Applicants are advised to allow approximately four months from submission of an application to issuance of the license. The time to license can take longer during the months of February ā€“ August due to the volume of applications being processed.
