2023 Annual Report

In 2023...

The Board had a change in its executive leadership for the first time in nearly two decades.

Thomas W. Mansfield, J.D. took the reins 
as NCMB's new CEO.

We said farewell and thank you to 
three retiring Board members.

Candace A. Bradley, DO, MBA, 
a family physician from Eden, NC.

Mark A. Newell, MD, MMM, a trauma and critical care surgeon from Greenville, NC.

and David P. Sousa, JD, MBA, 
an attorney from Raleigh, NC.

Highlights from our licensing program

The Board's total licensee 
population rose to 59,540

The Board issued just over 6,410 licenses in 2023.
