Bradley, DO, MBA, a family physician from Eden, NC. Mark A. Newell, MD, MMM, a trauma and critical care surgeon from Greenville, NC. and David P. Sousa, JD, MBA, an attorney from Raleigh, NC. Highlights from our licensing program The Board's total licensee population rose to 59,540 The Board issued just over 6,410 licenses in 2023. 4,058 - MDs and DOs; 1,303 - RTLs; 1,049 - PAs Some of the 2023 Enforcement Activity 2023 marks the highest volume of cases opened and processed ever! 3,390 cases opened and 4,637 cases closed Cases opened in 2023 (Top 3) Substandard care - nonprescribing - 983 Substandard care - prescribing - 360 Communication issues with a licensee - 267 Quality of care was the leading cause of Board actions in 2023 What else happened in 2023?
