2024 Position Statement Year-in-Review
At its November meeting, NCMB approved an updated version of the Board position statement entitled "MEDICAL RECORDS – Documentation, Electronic Health Records, Access, and Retention”.
NCMB’s Policy Committee develops new position statements and reviews and revises existing ones on a rolling basis to ensure that these advisory statements remain current and relevant. Position statements are interpretive statements that attempt to define or explain the meaning of laws or rules that govern the practice of physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners licensed in North Carolina. They also are intended to set forth criteria or guidelines used by the Board’s staff in investigations and in the prosecution or settlement of cases.
