CME Opportunities: Sharpen up on recognizing and responding to suspected abuse

Earlier this year, NCMB initiated a collaboration with Wake Area Health Education Center (Wake AHEC) and leading subject matter experts in North Carolina that has resulted in new CME for clinicians in two important and under-recognized areas - intimate partner violence and elder neglect and abuse.

The projects arose from Board Member concerns about an increase of physical violence during the pandemic and a desire to better equip licensees to recognize and respond to cases of maltreatment or neglect of vulnerable patient populations. After consulting with various agencies and experts in the state, NCMB determined that there is need for clinician education.

NCMB encourages licensees to take advantage of these CME opportunities.

The elder neglect and abuse CME series includes two self-paced online modules, which you can access below. There is a $20 registration fee for each course.
