Requirements

The NC Medical Board DOES NOT accept any written verification requests. Any hard copy verification requests received will be discarded without action. All routine verification requests must be done via our online portal accessible by clicking the “Request Verification” link in the resource section to the right. The cost for any online license verification is $50.00, payable by VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. Once the verification request is completed, it is immediately emailed.

Please note: If you want to send verifications to multiple locations, you must close your browser after each verification request and start the process again.

General Notes

All pertinent public information is contained in our verification letter and is accepted by all other licensing boards and credentialing agencies.

When requesting verifications that include exam scores:

• For any exam taken with the North Carolina Medical Board prior to 1976, the verification must be requested through Verifications. The cost for this verification is $50.00.
• For any exam taken after 1976, the verification must be requested through the Federation of State Medical Boards. Certain fees apply.

Verifications for International Adoptions must be requested via email from Verifications. The cost for International Adoption verifications cost $50.00 per doctor.

Nurse Practitioners requesting verifications will need to go through the NC Board of Nursing.

Clinical Pharmacist Practitioners requesting verifications will need to go through the NC Board of Pharmacy.

Polysomnographic Technologists (sleep techs) requesting verifications will need to go through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists
