After a two-month summer break, NCMB's MedBoard Matters podcast is back with a can't miss episode on the burgeoning crisis of suicidal ideation among North Carolina physicians (and likely other clinicians).
In this episode, NCPHP CEO Dr. Joe Jordan, a Ph.D. psychologist and professional counselor, shares troubling findings from a recent survey, which indicate that physicians in the state are contemplating suicide at much higher rates than previously believed. To make matters worse, most of these physicians on the brink are not telling anyone about their struggles. Jordan shares NCPHP's plans to raise awareness and train people who care about physicians to recognize and respond to suicidality.
