The Policy Committee of the North Carolina Medical Board has drafted a proposed position statement entitled “Licensee Employment” to provide guidance to licensees who are employed by hospitals, health systems or other entities. The position is intended to help licensees think through situations and employment terms that may make it difficult for them to meet ethical and professional obligations to patients.

The Policy Committee is set to review comments and feedback during the November Board Meeting, which is scheduled for Nov. 16-18.
