The NC Clinician & Physician Resilience & Well-being Consortium (NCCPRWC), of which NCMB is a member, is collaborating with hospitals and health systems to implement evidence-based strategies to improve workers’ mental health and wellness.

Last spring, the NCCPRWC and the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation launched their partnership with the ALL IN: C4NCC initiative, beginning with Phase 1 – Breaking Down Barriers to Help-Seeking. Phase 1 of the project focuses on working with hospitals and health systems that evaluating their credentialing process with the intention of supporting physician health during a time when many providers report experiencing distress in the workplace. Phase II of ALL IN: C4NCC will focus on establishing a digital curriculum to help hospital and health system leaders develop the knowledge to effectively promote professional wellbeing, while Phase III will provide technical assistance and other support to help ensure that quality improvement projects do not compromise clinician wellbeing.

Hospitals and health systems participating in the initiative commit to:
• Make a public commitment to their workforce’s well-being by eliminating local barriers to mental health care access for licensed health workers.
• Participate in a digital curriculum to enhance understanding of the drivers of burnout and successful approaches to improve well-being.
• Create and implement a 12-month action plan to accelerate systems change to operational and administrative burdens.
