Applicants are needed for three physician seats on the North Carolina Medical Board for terms beginning Nov. 1.
All positions must be filled by the process set down in statute (N.C. Gen. Stat. 90-2 and 90-3), which requires interested parties to apply via the Review Panel for the North Carolina Medical Board. The Review Panel is an independent body that nominates candidates for consideration by Gov. Roy Cooper. By law, the Review Panel must nominate two candidates for each open seat.
Two seats are currently occupied by physicians who are eligible for reappointment. However, these physicians must apply for reappointment via the normal application process.
Applications will be accepted online through June 30. For more information visit
this website.
The Review Panel will consider only physicians (MDs or DOs) who hold active, unrestricted NC medical licenses. Applicants must be actively practicing clinical medicine at least part time and must have no history of disciplinary action within the past five years.
