Effective Monday, April 18, all limited emergency licenses (LEL) issued to allow additional medical professionals to treat North Carolina patients during the COVID-19 pandemic are INACTIVE. It is not lawful to practice medicine or perform medical acts and tasks in North Carolina without an active NC professional license.
NCMB issued an order in March announcing its intention to inactivate LELs.
Any LEL holder who applied for a NC license on or before March 18, 2022, is EXEMPT from the order and their LEL will remain active and valid until their pending license application is processed.
